“Detours are there or will show up to prepare us for what is to come.

It's how we react to them that makes the difference."- Delmar

I am excited about being in this space I’m in now and the next chapter of my journey.  Let’s not start with the formal stuff…you know the titles or the accolades, I’d rather start by telling you I’m simply a woman who is reinventing herself and learning in the process.

There are a few things I would like for you know about me from the start: I am loyal to my family, I have a passion for women and women in transition, and I’ve learned the power of being transparent so those who are assigned to me to serve and support will get more of the real me.

As with all of us, our life’s story began at birth and with each phase of our lives there are things that will challenge us beyond what we think we can handle.

I am a daughter, sister, aunt, and a servant leader. I have witnessed ups and downs, and understand from a first-hand perspective the importance of staying true to yourself and learning to carve out time for yourself.

I can also honestly say you are not by yourself if you’ve ever felt like nothing was going right for you. I've had that feeling and thoughts many times and more than just a day or two. It can feel like a very lonely place, even when you're in a room full of people. I know what it is to feel like you're on a high, only to look and find yourself in a place you never dreamed you would be.  I call that place - a dry place. Then you have to get into survival mode really quick because  you cannot afford to lose absolute control over everything.

Picture this, a thriving, educated, corporate ladder climbing woman in her stride of life. Things going well, life is good as she defines it.  Then life showed up and backed her into a corner. Career and job began to diminish, long term unemployment kicked in, money dwindled, self-esteem took a beating…and survival mode kicked it for the long haul.

Yes I was in HR, and went through down-sizings, and I became the side chick, and a lot of people didn't know about a lot of things I went through, but... it's my story and those experiences without a doubt have molded and shaped me into the woman I am and still becoming.
